TRANSACTIONS Menu: Transaction Processing

All entry and maintenance of jobs is done through the TRANSACTIONS menu in MJC. There are three types of jobs you can process:

• normal jobs - these are service (do-and-charge) jobs or field service jobs
• manufactured jobs - these are jobs that draw off labour and materials from suppliers and/or your raw material stock file, then return the finished product back to your MDS stock file as a finished item
• internal jobs - these are jobs created for such things as overhead work (research and development, warranty, estimating, tender preparation, cleaning, internal maintenance, training, etc.), or for warranty work that needs to be tracked and provided to customers through a warranty or project retention period.

Materials and labour (hours) can be posted directly within the job or by batches using the BATCH MATERIALS or BATCH TIMESHEET menu options. Transactions posted to a job can be changed where required. The charge-out figures can also be changed, i.e. where the costs cannot be changed but the job can be billed for a higher or lower amount than Micronet would calculate.

Micronet can produce invoices for the work completed. Jobs can be invoiced at any time, whether they are completed or not.

You can perform the following actions using the options under the TRANSACTIONS menu:

• create and manage normal service (do-and-charge) jobs or field service jobs - refer to "Transactions – Job Transactions"
• create and manage manufactured jobs - refer to "Transactions – Manufactured Job"
• create and manage internal jobs - refer to "Transactions – Internal Job"
• invoice or modify accrued retentions - refer to "Transactions - Invoice/Modify Accrued Retentions"
• post employee labour hours to jobs in batches - refer to "Transactions – Batch Timesheets"
• post materials to jobs in batches - refer to "Transactions – Batch Materials"
• adjust Work in Progress (WIP) - refer to "Transactions - Adjust WIP"
• complete internal jobs - refer to "Transactions – Complete Internal Jobs".
